Review on Zootopia Carrot Recorder and Badge by Judy by Tim Sterling

My child fell in love with Zootopia about six months later. I have credible information from a family member who works in Disney's marketing department that the merchandise didn't sell very well, which is why they discontinued most of the non-clothing items. Even with those connections, we couldn't find a single carrot-stemmed weapon. This is not an officially licensed Disney Store version (actually I like this version more because it comes with an icon and doesn't have the characters on the carrot which my kid finds more realistic). etc. It's a clip, not a pin, so my child can put it on and take it off quickly without the horrible finger sticks. In the film, Judy's pen writes and writes. It's just a shot, but my kid is fine with it, and most kids who like the movie are learning to write anyway, so they prefer to "pretend" in this part. It was surprisingly easy to pick up and use the recording feature - we have another similar record and playback toy that's pretty finicky, but it gets the hang of it after a quick demo and it's very consistent. It records about 5-7 seconds I would say. It's all plastic; but survived some tough games surprisingly well. However, I doubt it will last a year and I have no idea if the battery is replaceable or how. It was a good stocking and we had a lot of fun with it. Without the price I would have given four stars. Check it out – it goes up and down, black market style. I saw it at some dealers for $70 before Christmas, although it was usually around $30-$40. Ridiculous in any of these price ranges. I waited until it guaranteed first day delivery until Christmas and it dropped to $14.99. It's on the high side of what it's worth, but good enough for me. I ordered from the only distributor in the US (in New York) who kindly shipped it to me on December 23rd. I highly recommend this company. If you MUST have Judy's Carrot Receptionist, this is the one for you and the Disney Store can't help you. But it is what it is, so adjust your expectations.
