The plastic taste and smell permeates everything inside

We loved the new compact tin for our iced tea. After boiling a little, we noticed a strong unpleasant taste of tea. The other batch was also inedible. The plastic of the container gave the liquid a plastic taste. We tried leaving it with the baking soda in it and soaking it in vinegar for two rounds and eventually getting the smell out of the container BUT as soon as we poured the water for the tea the plastic smell came back and was just as bad as ever. unusable.
