When testing my 60 watt ceramic heater before installing it, I found that the heater heats up to over 400F. But the heat comes from the ceramic heater itself. I held my hand 6 inches from the heater and barely felt the heat. What's wrong? I had to move my hand 2 inches to the heater to feel intense heat and less than 1 inch to get any significant heat off my hand. The ceramic heater heats the AIR and does not radiate heat like an incandescent bulb. If you use it in an aviary, e.g. B. in a reptile tank made of glass, it can work. The glass aquarium contains heated air. contain heated air. If you use a 150w ceramic heater instead of a 60w heater maybe it can generate enough localized heat. But then you use almost three times more energy to run it. This works very differently than heating with an incandescent lamp. Where you can feel the warmth of the light falling on your hand. You can use this in a birdcage. And you don't have to use a 150W light bulb.
