I use them on almost every pair of socks with knit cuffs unless I'm knitting 2 at a time on 2 longer rounds. I crochet quite a bit of lace socks and this is just perfect for the cuffs. I tried to buy this at a local yarn store and the shop owner informed me that they don't carry needles that small because they are "bad for our skin". Hands." I've been using them for about two years now and haven't had any problems with my hands either during or after using them. The end result is much more attractive to my knitting than the double knitting needles I've sometimes used on left ladders, even if I tried to tighten the end and beginning loops.
