I've never subscribed to the hype about expensive speaker cables. Spending absurd amounts of money via bank transfer seems irresponsible. My latest project involved running 90 feet of outdoor speaker wire. Not wanting to pull two different sets of cables, I decided to try Mediabridge's 4-wire speaker cable. This turned out to be a great decision. Also, due to the length of the barrel, I decided to invest in 12 AWG to make up for the distance. There's nothing like investing your time, only to be faced with the decision to do it again or live with your job just because you've decided to "save" a few bucks. The external speakers sound fantastic with plenty of power, also thanks to the wiring. This wire has done my job once and for all! As I mentioned earlier, I had cheap speaker wire in my system. Using the remaining cable I made some replacement cables for the L/C/R speakers in my 5.1 home system. The sound from my main speakers playing Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven" was truly heavenly. I find myself thinking about my next project while staring at my ceiling surround speakers.
