I'm a supporter of TicPods Free. The ANC option is a great upgrade. Not what I'm used to, but a great product. Using one ear is fine. Depending on which side you are using, not all touch functions will work. The sound is better than my originals. They are also more comfortable than the originals. There are 3 ANC options. These are Off, Quiet Mode, and Audio Pass Through Mode. I see through the mode in use when using it while driving. You can hear everything around you and even have a conversation if the sound is not too loud. I hear myself typing as I write this. When it's off you can still hear around you, but the headphones block quite a bit of sound. Turning on ANC is great. In normal listening I don't notice any difference. The music is of the same quality. Fan noise is suppressed quite well. street noise too. I used them on my lawn mower which is quite noisy. This works very well. The only issue I had was using the cordless trimmer. This sound is so inconsistent that TicPod's ANC actually introduces some pretty bad artifacts into the sound. Disabling ANC solved this problem. In fact, I could make a phone call to the same grass trimmer. Little did the other party know that I was actually using a trimmer at the time! It was a great experience. The connection quality is excellent. I'm a part-time teacher who has returned to distance learning and had a few Zoom meetings/calls while connected to my LG phone and Pixel Slate. They work great. The quality of the microphone is good judging from my requests to people on phone calls and conferences/scales. The price is even better. Compared to TicPods 2 and especially 2 Pro. I miss the touch volume controls on the original TicPods, but the touch "strip" in the ANC variant does most of what I need. Skip, pause, answer a call, end a call. Even use Google Assistant. For the price they are unbeatable. Great headphones TicPods ANC FTW!
