I bought this caliper because I liked the look of the large display and the display itself is nice. Unfortunately, the caliper itself has a serious problem. If you're using vernier calipers, the zero will occasionally jump up or down .200 inches, which of course will shift your measurements by the same amount. In my case, I use it to measure the length of an ammo box, so a .200" jump in length is really obvious, but can be disastrous in other applications. If the zero bounces it's easy to fix by just closing the caliper jaws and pressing the zero button, but after a minute or two it bounces again. It seems that the zero jump always occurs when the caliper is moving and never occurs when it is stationary. It has nothing to do with the battery because I've tried several known good batteries in it and they all gave the same results. It's too annoying for me to continue using it, so I'm sending it back. This zero jump happens almost every time I use a caliper.
