10 steps to success Aquapac

This is a great and affordable invention but of course it would be even better if it had lens sizes. With an 85mm lens, there is too much wiggle room in the lens cap to shoot without holding it with your hand to pull it up. Forget it with a 24mm lens. I think it's possible to fold the lens cap on itself when using a shorter lens, but it doesn't stay folded. Here are my ten tips for success with the Aquapac: 1. If you intend to shoot underwater at all, you must wear scuba goggles or goggles if you want to see through the viewfinder.2. I would use a prime lens, if only for the large clearance in the pocket above the lens portion. I want to fix the bag exactly with a rubber band and then leave it alone, which I don't think is possible with an adjustable lens.3. Get your settings before you put your camera in your bag. For a bright day, ISO 800, f/11.0 and shutter speed 1/1000.4 worked well for me. When inserting the camera, be sure to slide the lens cap slowly onto the lens. Easily toggle the lens switch from auto to manual by putting the camera in your pocket.5. Unless your lens is larger than 100mm and doesn't take up all the space, you'll need a very wide rubber band, like the ones you wrap around newspapers. Slide the plastic part of the lens down until the hard lens cap meets the lens, then secure it with a rubber band around the soft plastic part to hold the case to the camera. It is imperative that you put all 3 moisture-absorbing bags in your camera bag when using it, otherwise the lens will fog up and you will not be able to focus or see.7. If you find yourself in a pool where the water is splashing, or if you dive underwater and then resurface, be sure to wipe any water droplets off the lens cap or they will stick to your photos. If you submerge it in water, do a bubble test first. Place it halfway down and a few bubbles will come out of the air trapped in the locks, but that's about it. No more blisters afterwards.9. Check the camera dial regularly to make sure you haven't accidentally changed the mode. My camera switched slightly from M to A-DEP as I fumbled in the water for the shutter button. 10. If you want to get one of those really cool half underwater shots, you can't do it at a public pool on the weekend. You need to do this somewhere where the water is almost mirror flat and not where the waves are breaking on your face. My first photo will be placed under the avatars for this product on the main page.

By the camera dimensions the case is claimed to take, my D500 should have fit. Not even close.
