I'm an 83 year old male who started cooking at the age of nine so I've seen several graters in my life. My grandmother, my mother and the number that I had for many years. I say all this to say that this is the best grater I have ever used. Maybe there are better graters, but I haven't seen them. First, it's big and open enough that even a person with big hands can put their hands in it for easy cleaning. The blades are sharp and easily scratch or cut (be careful). It's made of high-quality stainless steel, so there won't be any problems with rusting or corrosion, and the rubber base keeps it stable so it won't slip during use.
