My wife and I ordered one of these in January 2017. We've been using it consistently ever since. We also told other friends about our alkaline water and let others try it. So far everyone has liked it. One of my best friends has very bad knees and constant joint pain and is 44 years old. I've given him a few gallons of our alkaline water and it keeps coming back because he says he feels 20 years old again. 44 and got similar results. I'm very active and recently (after a break of about 5 years) got back into hardcore. What I've noticed is that as long as I drink 16 ounces of alkaline water in the morning, during my workouts, and before bed, I don't get sore muscles. I also have two reconstructed knees (due to anterior cruciate ligament surgery on both my right and left knees) but I have NO swelling or pain in my joints after running during or after my workouts (because I drink alkaline water). I also have a gluten allergy: every time I eat gluten my body hurts and this pain lasts about 24 hours. My pain level can sometimes reach 8 or 9 out of 10. However, after I started drinking alkaline water, that pain completely went away, which hasn't been the case since I developed a gluten allergy about 10 years ago. I love this car, for the first time in 10 years I have had no pain in my body and am active again. Benefits 1) anti-inflammatory effects (joints feel great) 2) more oxygen in your body blood (more endurance for longer workouts) 3) blocking of gluten allergy (my pain is gone) 4) cancer prevention - don't know if this is the case True, but I've been told that everyone with cancer has their blood tested for acidity. I was also told that cancer cannot grow in an alkaline environment. Therefore, drinking alkaline water helps prevent cancer since the human body is mostly made up of water. Disadvantages 1) it's a big investment 2) the alkaline filter is expensive but only needs to be changed once a year 3) the machine needs to be descaled monthly, quarterly or twice a year depending on the hardness or softness of your water. UPDATE: We clean and change the filters regularly, but after the first 6 months of hitting pH 9.5 we are stuck at pH 8.5 even on the highest setting. Parameter. I don't know what else to do to get the pH back to 9.5.
