Review on πŸ–¨οΈ AVERY Printable Heat Transfer Paper for Dark Fabrics: Inkjet Printer Iron On Transfers (3279) by Dawn Fischer

Excellent transfers: reliable and easy to use, only 2 comments

These transfers allow inkjet prints to be transferred onto dark colored fabrics. They are considered different from their "lightweight fabric" counterparts when you print a mirror image, turn the translation over, iron onto the fabric, and peel off the backing. Instead, with this "dark fabric" version, you print the desired image (*not* a mirror image) onto the transfer, then peel off the backing and place the transfer face up, before pressing it onto the fabric with an iron or - much better - a heat press. This way, you end up with a fairly thick, white vinyl backing for your print, which you can use to print lighter colors onto darker fabrics. melting transition to the heat source). I find these transfers to be easy to use and to withstand a wide range of temperatures and pressing times. What to look out for: Transfer paper will curl up quickly when placed under a heat source. If you have a press where the roller (hot bar) rocks up rather than sideways, you may find transfer pucker before you can smooth the fabric over it, which can make tuning difficult. I solved this problem by hanging a heat shield under the roller until the t-shirt, the transfer paper and napkin are in place. This sign can consist of several layers of corrugated cardboard, hung under the roller with clothes hanger wire or similar. Second note: Out of 20+ transfers I've only had one mishap: I let the transfer heat up for too long and areas that should have been black turned burnt brown. Not sure if it was actually translation or ink that got burned, but something to watch out for. were burned brown.
