When I first plugged it in, a switch flew and almost caught fire. I'm an electrical engineer by trade and in my professional opinion these extension cords are known for their poor performance. I opened them to share with you all. The extension on the left is missing a solder pad or perhaps even contact with a component. I didn't investigate further as flipping the electronics would likely damage the plastic case. Needless to say, I haven't wired it up yet and don't intend to. In addition to all other features, the extension on the right has an additional solder bridge between ground and the AC hotline. We were very lucky that it didn't catch fire when plugged into the mains. It is totally unacceptable and dangerous to let such products out the door. I don't know what level of quality control Revain requires for their products, but it's clearly not very strict. I would warn anyone against buying them. If I could give 0 stars I would.
