You've used scissors your whole life. But you've probably never used scissors like this before. As someone with an engineering background, I marvel at the almost frictionless movement of these scissors. The blade profile corresponds to the high quality of the dagger. Incredibly strong spine with a steep taper that turns into a terribly sharp edge. Seriously, you can take them apart, clean them a few times, and use them to shave like a razor. Yes. The edging on them is SO good. The blade sharpening geometry is perfect and symmetrical. Very smooth and professionally sanded. The bearing spindle is the icing on the cake. So soft. I will tell you that most of the effort you put into working with scissors by hand is to overcome the friction of the scissors themselves. They're so smooth and almost friction-free that it should save a lot of manual effort, especially if you're using them for long periods of time. And you don't have to look for a screwdriver to adjust the pressure, just turn the adjustment knob with your fingers. Of course, remove the inserts if they fit your fingers better than mine. Museum quality chrome finish and polish. You don't have to use them. Feel free to polish and show them off. They come in a lovely gift box and to be honest my original intention was to throw the boxes in the bin and put them in a drawer with my other haircut essentials. Right? This is a pair of scissors. You throw them in a box. But, ah, I don't think I'm going to pigeonhole THAT. I think I'll put it carefully in a suitcase and throw the BODY in a drawer. They will be painful to drop or scratch, although I know they will lose their luster over time. What I have no doubt about is that they will last much longer than a perfect chrome finish. They are obviously made with exceptional attention to detail, and to my trained eye they appear to be of very high quality steel. Speaking of steel, the product description lists Japanese AICHI stainless steel. AICHI is a Japanese steel company that manufactures various metal products including stainless steel, aluminum and titanium. Their stainless steels include AUS 8 and AUS 10. AUS 8 is a "good" steel, AUS 10 is a very good steel. I would be interested to know what AICHI steel is used in the construction of these scissors. But one thing I know for sure: AICHI adheres very strictly to the heat treatment standards for its steels. So I believe these scissors are really quite outstanding in their design and should last a long, long time. In fact, if you know a barber/hairstylist in training I can't think of a better graduation gift than a set of these. They should be enough for a beginner in this field for the whole life of a haircut. I'm sure AOLANDUO was hoping that a professional barber or barber would check them out. nope You have something better. You have an ENGINEER. And if I am technically satisfied with the scissors? I promise they will satisfy you in terms of haircut. And they shock me.
