Bought to help me tow my car over rough terrain. Initial looks and ease of use were fantastic. They secured my car with no problems. I will update once I complete the journey. Update: Slightly late update. After a cross country ride in California I can safely say these harnesses are awesome. I checked for gas, food, etc. every time I stopped and the only reason they ever seemed clear was a slow leak in the tires of the car I was towing. Other than that, they were amazing! Never came off, the car stood like a rock on the trailer. The grommets that prevent vibration damage to the strap worked perfectly, I think I have a small wear spot on one of the anti-abrasion grommets, but the straps themselves never rubbed. The device is insanely powerful and easy to use. The only thing that even gave me trouble was getting the ratchet to lock in the closed position on a handle when the machine was first loaded. Otherwise I've never had a problem. Several people at gas stations asked me where to get the belts, literally across the country. I used them differently than the "lasso" around the hoop. I routed the straps through the wheel itself as my trailer doesn't have mounts on the outside edge (mine is front/rear) but it worked exactly as advertised and never slipped as I mentioned. I was consulting with a tow truck driver about an alternative method of using these straps when I saw the car being towed the same way and was told it was a good method. So they're also universal, I'm sure they can even be used as axle belts. However, before using them in any way not intended by the manufacturer, consult someone knowledgeable about towing.
