This PCI-E extension cable is suitable for my case where I have a card. The graphics card was blocking it, so I needed a solution to move the graphics card away from my short PCI slot. It was necessary to expand the card, not just the port, so it's really at the limit of length. Also, the small circuit board on the end that connects to my graphics card is too big and doesn't allow my card to fit closer to the case for me to screw it on. For me it just sits on the bottom of my PC. I turned the card upside down so the fan isn't on the bottom of the case. Not a perfect solution, but since I never move my computer while it's working.
