Review on Allocacoc PowerCube Rewirable USB Travel Adapter with 4 Sockets and 2 USB Ports, TypeB sockets USB, Grey by Mark Gancio

Revainrating 2 out of 5

*updated* Incorrect wiring - beware - also

*update* 3 weeks after reporting the problem to them I received a replacement with correct wiring. The defective device number is BN6041-14CF, the correct device number is BN6051-18QX. A faulty device will have two lights on the left side of the socket tester, while a good device will have two lights on the right. (See legend on socket tester). The solution for the Powercube was to swap the brown and blue wires connected to the IEC connector socket. I appreciate the customer service when replacing a failed device. However, to draw attention to this issue, I will leave the rating at 2 stars until Powercube publishes information about which devices are affected by this defect in the product description, so that consumers who do not have a socket tester can be informed. *Original review* As another reviewer wrote, my device is also online and neutral. This can be tested with a standard $7 socket tester at your local hardware store (or Amazon). The changeover takes place in the powercube itself, not in the adapters. I have contacted support and am waiting for a replacement. I will update the review once a replacement arrives. I like the concept of the device and the seemingly solid construction. Please note that this unit is larger than I expected, which may be an issue for some when traveling.
