Nice loud siren. Definitely not "doorbell". I was concerned that the door and door frame would not be completely flush with each other, but there is a little wiggle room. The two parts do not have to be next to each other. In terms of home safety, it's great to alert you to a door being opened when you're at home and hear it (or, for example, want a stray patient or Alzheimer's child not to leave without your knowledge), but when i open the door, it takes me less than 3 seconds to turn it off or close the door behind me. Not enough time to draw attention to yourself on the street if someone breaks in. The tape is very sticky. I'll probably just leave it on when I move rather than trying to tear it down. These can be bought from port charters but I think they're around $5 for two.
