I only buy green fluorescent tubes now BUT I also appreciate good design and great light. Now expect an extra electricity bill (and in this case, $10-$15 per bulb) for the aesthetics in your important areas. It's important and worth it. I'm a modern classic girl, not a Victorian. I used regular hanging wire and this bulb (just hung it from a hook on the ceiling) in my bathroom for extra lighting and ambiance (bathtub, dressing room). The early "inventive" look of this bulb advertises my minimal wire and screw fitting and somehow makes it as cheap as possible ;-) Hence an expensive bulb takes a $10 fixture from cheap to "classy". "..how to save money for a trendy chandelier! In the end everything evens out!
