I have an 8x loupe that I work with jewelry regularly so this is a magnification level , with which I am very familiar. So when I saw that there were 7x magnifying glasses, I bought a pair. These are comfortable glasses and the magnification is strong but that's about all the good things I can say about them. The field of view (what I can see is both zoomed in and in focus) is about 4 inches in front of my face, further out and out of focus, even closer - and I have to close an eye to prevent that. be blurry. Seriously, there's about a two-inch range (maximum!) where things are sharp, and that requires me to hold whatever it is right in front of my face. I don't wear prescription glasses, contact lenses or anything else for vision correction, I just carry a magnifying glass for meticulous close-up work. Unfortunately, this is worse than using a magnifying glass. I think I'll stick with some readily available 5x goggles that actually have a reasonable field of view and give them back. If they were a fraction of the price I would keep them to myself, patch up one of the lenses and use them like a more convenient single lens loupe, but at this price?
