This is so cool. It takes some practice to get used to where to place the device in relation to the wick. A few approaches and you probably get the hang of it. I really LOVE the flameless concept. I would look after the children with him. I'm sure an arc that can light a candle will also burn skin. God saves the man who saves himself. We have a candelabra with 10 medium candles and 4 decorative candles. We use 3-4 times a week. I don't like playing around with those long matches. The device doesn't need to be overcharged, and in 2 weeks that we haven't used it, the charge hasn't dropped noticeably. In general I am very satisfied. One more thing. Unlike a long match, this device has a bendable neck. I didn't think I would use this feature often, but it has become one of my favorites.
