Mediocre but mostly working so far

I just received this card and installed it on a computer with 64-bit Windows 7. So far there are two problems with this card: 1 - driver (version 1.0.15.3 without Raid ) does not implement SMART commands, so you cannot monitor the status of your drives (e.g. temperature, errors, etc.)2. The driver does not implement the "safely remove hardware and remove media" feature that other eSATA interfaces offer. You need to go into Device Manager and manually remove eSATA drives when you no longer want to use the enclosure. Updating the driver to version 1.0.15.6 without raid did not solve any of the problems. Windows 7 installs version 1.0.15.3 when searching for a driver. Driver version 1.0.15.6 is on the CD that came with the card (also available from the manufacturer's website). Most users will need to select the AMD64 option for their processor type when installing the Windows 7 64-bit driver from a CD. I received this card in the belief that it could provide a more reliable and powerful interface for the Mediasonic HF2-SU3S2 ProBox 4 Bay. Hard drive enclosure with USB 3.0 and eSATA. I find it works slightly better than using the USB 3.0 interface on my motherboard (NEC/RENESAS USB3 uPD720200 controller). None of the interfaces work properly when running concurrent I/O to more than one disk in an enclosure. I would suggest limiting disk I/O to one device at a time to maximize performance.
