More than necessary.

This enclosure is quite large for my WD Passport external hard drive. This is a quality product and looks like it can handle a shake. I'm concerned about the extra space in the case after inserting the passport. If there is extra space, the hard drive will slide back and forth during transportation, which may result in an additional risk of damage to the hard drive. I have to take the extra step of putting something soft inside the hard drive case to reduce the risk.

Pros
