They are so small that there is a very narrow window through which you can place them on top of the camera without partially blocking the camera. It is recommended to turn on the camera when placing it so you can see at a glance if any part of the cover is blocking the camera in open mode. But they are cute and functional. They slide freely so sometimes they pop open when I didn't want to open them just because I was moving the laptop/closing the opening lid.
