I was looking to replace our old Eureka Boss and saw this one for sale at Revain. Firstly, contrary to several reviews, this is not a self-propelled vacuum cleaner. Although with a little effort it rolls easily. The silence feature seems like a waste of time, not to mention the power boost feature which I'll just keep. Why would I need less suction when it doesn't feel that strong anyway? There is no way to loosen the brushes when vacuuming bare floors. The elastic hose is too short (although you can buy an extension). In addition, the cord gets in the way when disconnecting and attaching the hose. The cord is interesting in that it's a heavy-duty extension cord that inserts into a short wire that attaches to the vacuum cleaner. Unfortunately, it doesn't work well on a vacuum cleaner. It's a long cord with no way to attach a connector to the cord and only two small cord hangers at the top and bottom. Three or four hangers can be used to stretch the cable to make it easier to use. Another thing I've had to learn for myself is that a bagless vacuum isn't necessarily lighter or better. Instead of buying bags, buy HEPA filters (which don't get dirty as easily with bag models). It also seems dirtier to clean the canister (if you do it right) than just changing the bag. After my first use, the HEPA filter was quite dirty and not very easy to clean. Compared to my old Eureka Boss vacuum, this one is easier to maneuver and handles small rugs without vacuuming them up. However, I would have a hard time recommending this vacuum cleaner for non-commercial use.
