I also assumed that this filter would reduce the PPM in my tap water. I like the taste of purified bottled water below 20ppm and unfortunately I have tap water around 140ppm. After running the filter for about 10 minutes it tested just a few ppm less than what was leaking out of my faucet. I understand that testers can't account for healthy minerals, but I still like to try different waters to find the "flavor" and calm I prefer. I can't fault the filter unless it's designed to reduce PPM levels, but I honestly assumed it would do little more than reduce my tap water by just 1 or 2 PPM. As far as I can tell there is no difference in quality or taste. Aside from not living up to my expectations, it installs easily with no leaks and the water flow is still decent.
