I really wanted to like this mic a lot. I received the microphone yesterday. I wasn't able to start setting up until 9:30 p.m. Everything was in the box, including instructions. But I didn't even use the instructions to assemble it, it was so easy. It looked great and all. However, when I first connected it to my less than a year old Acer Helios Pedator 500, I had no sound when recording. I saw that the computer recognizes the microphone and automatically installs the drivers. I've gone through all the steps to check the app's access to the microphone, set and configure the microphone in the recording tab, set the microphone as default, disable other microphones listed in the recording, using the volume button on the microphone playing around and checking windows 10 driver updates, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers etc, then I decided to test the mic on my windows pro interface. The same thing. Sound not recorded. The computer recognized the microphone and automatically installed the drivers. I went through the same steps and checks on Surface Pro but nothing worked. Right now I'm pretty sure my computers are fine and it should be the mic. Remember I said I started work at 9:30pm. It's been a few hours because I've scoured the internet for other steps and combinations of steps I can take to figure this out. Then, after uninstalling and reinstalling the microphone driver for what seemed like the thousandth time, the microphone suddenly started working on the recorder. You'd think this would be the end, but it's not. Yes, the mic on the recorder was audible, but the audio was so bad it broke my heart. What else to work on. So I tried fine-tuning it, but I couldn't get rid of the tinny sound and echo in my voice. So I thought to myself. Maybe this time it's my Acer. I've done so much to make it work. So I switched to my Surface Pro to see if it made a difference because I made a lot fewer changes to it. But no, Sun's voice and echo. Right now it's 2:30 am. I give up and decide to just send it back. I was tired, angry and depressed. I'm the kind of person who spends hours fixing things. But when it turns out to be hopeless, it just upsets me. So I disassembled the microphone. Packed it back and asked for a refund from Revain before I went to bed. So today after work I sent the mic to UPS. I know it's my fault I spent hours trying to get this mic to work. But I did it because I know the technology isn't perfect and it takes a lot of work to get it working as advertised. But when you get such a poor quality product that you like, it only hurts your heart when you don't like it because it's a bad product.
