The light hits my eyes when I use it.
The light appears to do what it is designed to do, however the brightness becomes a bit tiring during the encounter. The colors aren't very pretty either. Better than nothing. I've found that it's best to place a lamp (clamp lamp) behind a screen in an aisle etc. and ask it to help with the lighting.
