Review on Cross Stitch Kit Beginners Always by Kristen Simpson

I bought this set to make for a friend who loves HP. The pattern and materials were great and it was a very quick project. I probably have enough thread left over to make a second one. My only criticism is that this is advertised as a beginner's project but doesn't come with great instructions on how to finish the border of the bookmark. I had to experiment a lot with the edge to make it look neat and even enough to my satisfaction. There is a tutorial video on the website but it only shows the beginning of the buttonhole, not how to add more thread or finish the stitch. I probably spent more time on the border than the pattern. I also highly recommend her suggestion of putting cardboard between the two layers to support the structure and hide the back of your seams. Overall I liked it as a quick project and would definitely recommend it!
