When I had to wipe my car (I have a small leak somewhere I couldn't find!) it actually collects water in a container. HUMYDRY does not collect water, but the absorber crystallizes. So it absorbs water, although not to the same extent as Damp Rid. It just isn't as good as Damp Rid, but on the plus side it doesn't smell as strong as Damp Rid! This is normal - unless you're dealing with a serious moisture issue, it will probably work just fine.
