I have been using Mikrotik products for a few years now. If you're tired of messing around with expensive consumer networking gear, Mikrotik is for you. Mikrotik is used by many ISPs to provide professional networking equipment. Once a Mikrotik device is set up, it lasts almost forever. All Mikrotik devices (routers, access points) come with what Mikrotik calls "Quick Sets" and in many situations a Quick Set will fit your needs. Once your needs exceed the quick setting, you'll need to rummage around the web. The good news is that there are many Mikrotik setup videos on YouTube. And there are several forums that talk about best practices for using Mikrotik. If you like to play with networks, if you need ultra-reliable network equipment, if you expect high performance from your network, Mikrotik is the answer. But the learning curve can be steep.
