I live in an area where pollen from surrounding trees leaves millions of tiny sticky dots all over my car overnight. If you wash it, it will be covered with sticky pollen dots in the morning. I bought a cover so I don't have to wash my car every day and it helps. It is very large, and when it gets wet, it is not easy to store and dry. It's also very light (similar to a black backed garbage bag). My SUV 18 feels long and the cap doesn't quite fit the front. Another 6 inches makes a difference.
