Finally an end to the ugly popcorn ceiling

There was a hole in the ceiling of our living room due to a leaking roof. The problem is that my writing and swiping skills are pretty bad. The ceiling also had some "shading" or small indentations from the insulation that had been sitting on the drywall for over 30 years. And best of all, it was an ugly popcorn ceiling. When considering alternative options, these tiles seemed to be the best option. And since the ceiling is almost done, I think it is. I like the looks. Popcorn ceiling warning. I have found that the glue (PowerGrab) does not stick to some tiles. I realized the problem was the inevitable powder residue from the popcorn bin. No scraping, brushing or wiping helped. So I stopped what I was doing and quickly applied a coat of primer (I used Kilz). This worked for me. Now they get up and don't go to bed. And a little extra protection against the rain never hurts. Result. If you are looking to give your ceiling a new look or have small imperfections in your ceiling that paint cannot cover, this tile is a great option.
