Excellent camera, a few minor flaws

Very easy setup. The video quality is excellent both during the day and at night. I have HD, not Auto. The IR spectrum at 920nm is superb - no "red lights" shining through the room at night! The camera does NOT need to be connected to Wi-Fi/Internet to record videos on the SD card (big plus compared to other indoor cameras). I didn't like the bright white color of the stands, cables, or chargers. I used Rust-Oleum Flat Blank spray paint to paint the stand and charger. The camera can be removed from the stand by pressing the release latches on the right and left sides of the camera body. When you paint the charger, use painter's tape to cover the USB port and jacks. I bought 10ft black USB to micro USB cables to replace the 6ft white cables. With the stand, cables, charger, and camera all in black, it won't stand out like a sore thumb when you're sitting on a bookshelf, in the dining room, or anywhere else you might stash a camera. I would suggest purchasing a backup battery such as the TalentCell 12V 3000mAh Lithium Ion DC Battery (available on Amazon) so your cameras will continue to work in the event of a power outage. I don't like paying for cloud storage that Yi offers, so I only use 32GB micro SD cards in my cameras. The two shortcomings of these cameras that caused the camera to not get 5 stars from me are: 1) The video on the SD card is not recorded with a date/time stamp on the video itself. 2) The file size is 1 minute (about 4.5MB) on the SD card. A friend of mine who is a criminal defense attorney said it would be a problem if you tried to use the video in court. The defense can always correctly state that the video does NOT show when the event took place and that the video needs to be edited together to see the full context of the event. Aside from the date/time stamp output, I highly recommend these cameras!
