Review on 🚲 Mountain Bike Bell - Timber! Quick Release Model by Ruben Saunders

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great way to signal your approach, easy to use, not irritating!

My main purpose in purchasing this bell was to warn my husband when he was too far ahead of me and couldn't hear the bell and for that it works great. One trail we are on is mostly cinder and gravel and tire noise drowned out the bell and he couldn't hear me at 15ft. Our last ride on a dry single track was much better - he could hear me from about 50 feet away. You won't really be able to tell him I'm very far behind, but he'll probably hear it if I fall. :) The purpose of the bell is to warn other riders, hikers and horses of your approach and it works GREAT for that. I often drive the green lane through our city, and I would say that within about 50 feet, pedestrians will hear me approach, turn, see me, and exit the lane without fear that I'll be quietly driving behind them and please come over. The sound is pleasant and doesn't get on my nerves at all. The volume control is more of a sensitivity control - the bell has the same volume on "low" as on "high", but it rings more often with less effort when fully open. It's absurdly easy to put the bike on and turn it off and on again. My girlfriend saw this and thought it was a great idea, I'll get her one for her birthday! A NOTICE. One dog was really confused, maybe because I sounded like a chew toy. :)
