I would have given this product a higher rating if the instructions weren't vague. I would have thought it would be a plug and play product. Maybe, but not for me. I knew this was supposed to work, so I spent a few hours on the internet and accidentally found this out. On a Macbook Pro, you may need to go to "System Preferences" and then click the padlock in the bottom left of this screen to unlock Computer Preferences. Click Ethernet Thunderbolt and then click the down arrow on the star. You may need to select the 10/100/1000 Mbps option to enable wired Ethernet. Then save your changes. The seller includes these instructions in his manual. They were very pleasant to deal with. I highly recommend them.
