I've heard good things about OffCourt so I thought we could give this soap a try. The box was a little banged up but it turns out, that doesn't hurt soap! The smell is a little powerful, but doesn't smell any more powerful than other soaps once it's rinsed off IMO. There is a description of the scent on the side panel of the box, I'd call it a little more musky than a typical soapy smell.I always run an ingredient checker because I have sensitive skin. This one has some good ingredients but one big red flag ingredient my checker calls 'icky.' Fragrance? This is a generic term that can contain anywhere from 30 to 200 ingredients – you just don't know! So this could be a known irritant that I have on a list of things I just shouldn't use on my skin, or it could be just a harmless few ingredients - I just don't know because it's a mystery. I'll have to keep this as a hands-only soap.For that purpose, this does pretty well and works up a good lather. I do a lot of gardening and messy work. I expected this to be more gritty – you can feel a little in there but it's actually pretty moisturizing. My husband likes it, too. We're not big fans of pump soaps, too often it leaves this gritty residue on your hands, even when you rinse and rinse. No problem like that with this soap. I like it and would recommend it, but I'd also only use it as a hand soap if you tend to get irritated skin with a lot of perfumey ingredients.
