I normally wear a medium. I'm 5-4 130 lb, measurements 36 - 29 - 40. I returned the medium and got a small. I felt it could still be smaller, but it was good enough. When I ordered a second a year later, I debated as to whether to order an extra small but I'm glad I didn't. The second small is perfect. The sleeves are about 2" shorter than the first small which worked better on me, but maybe not for a taller person with longer arms. The cotton/rayon fabric has a nice drape but there is no stretch, so care must be taken getting into it, but once on, it is roomy and comfortable. On me, the length is mid-calf. The bodice closure uses two ties, but they do not offer full modest closure. I happen to have assorted colors of lace modesty bras (Milana and copycats) that work perfectly with these dresses. My first purchase was the "dark green" which is a rich teal and includes yellow-gold and red. Great for fall and winter. The second was called "white#2" and has pink/burgundy roses and splashes of yellow and rust on a creamy-white background which make it good for spring and early fall. There are no care instructions on the dresses themselves. I avoid washing my delicate dresses as much as I can, but these should be hand-washed and hung to dry when they need it. The one I purchased a year ago still looks new. They need ironing when they arrive and after washing, but they stay nice in between. I'm ready to order a third. I wouldn't normally buy 3 dresses of one style, but I love the comfort, flattering cut, and length, which is not easy to find. Besides, the variety of colors and patterns gives each quite a different look.
