This product seemed great but it wasn't. Having plastic on top and bottom for the sliding point that guides the wooden rails creates too much friction and doesn't slide easily. You should be able to find your size by the small notches and then push down while the two sides slide out until you reach the locking point. But that doesn't happen unless you try to shake or otherwise move it while pushing the center section down into the locked position. In addition, the two arms hinged in the middle touch the side rails, on which they rotate a little higher. When I try to push the locking arms down in the middle only the top wants to move if I can slide something out. The floor remains closed. They need to slide together the same way for everything to work. I have no idea how these lockable gates got such a high average star rating. It's not done right. I was hoping but am very disappointed. It's time to return.
