Drill a 3/16 " pilot hole instead of a 7/32 " pilot hole - otherwise easy installation and strength!

I used to professionally install televisions for people so I used a lot of different mounting systems. I was looking for something cheap but reliable to hang my LG 50LA6200 50 inch LCD TV. I looked at many options both at Revain and elsewhere before settling on this one. I'm glad I did! It comes with EVERYTHING you need to hang your TV except a #2 Phillips screwdriver and a drill. an ambidextrous wrench, a very good magnetic level, and even a 10-foot HDMI cable. The instructions say to use the "optional" expansion kit for large TVs. This is usually a "kit not included" code. I was pleased and surprised to find that this is not the case here. This time the "extra" kit was actually included! Installation was an easy task for me, even without a guide as I already know how it works, but it was pretty easy for me to follow the guide. For those who need them All of the different extension bracket soldering configurations can be confusing, but just try each one until you find the right setting for your TV. **PLEASE NOTE** However, there is one change to the pattern that I highly recommend. The instructions state that a 7/32-inch pilot hole should be drilled in the stud for each mounting screw. Then screw in the screw with a Phillips screwdriver. When I first installed this (I moved it soon after), I took the advice. for the pilot hole. Of course, the screw was easy to screw in. A little too easy. The second hole from the top actually fell off and I didn't put much effort with the screwdriver at all! Moving it to the other side of the room I decided to use a smaller pilot bit. Instead, I used a 3/16" bit. Of course, you're not going to screw the screw in with a screwdriver - you'll need a #10 socket - but with this method the screws are going nowhere! Maybe you'll come up with a 13/64". -Bit of it but to really protect your expensive TV I want to get all I can!I also found that the inner diameter of one of the washers was too small for the screw.I just enlarged it with a round file but as they don't include spare parts if you don't have a file or other washing machine you'll have to get them.I would throw it away in the interest of full disclosure.Once installed I was impressed not only with the durability but also with the full freedom of movement. It is fully articulated. You can place your TV almost anywhere you want. The only thing it can't do is tilt the TV up or down egen, although you can tilt it to a degree.
