Ignores limit bars (and fall sensors) when looking for a charging station

This OPODEE robot vacuum cleaner has several advantages. It's fairly inexpensive, it cleans in an "S" pattern (rather than randomly traversing a room), and uses magnetic delimiter strips to limit where it cleans. I tested OPODEE when I first received it and found all of the above to be true. I had a fairly specialized place I wanted to clean up and this ticked all the boxes. BUT when it's time to head back to the charging station, it seems pretty fast and loose with limits. I've seen him hit the magnetic barrier and back off a couple of times. Then I saw him just drive over him. I saw the same thing in one of the OPODEE YouTube review videos when reviewing this purchase, but at the time I attributed it to the fact that the reviewer simply threw a restrictive streak across the rug. In my case, I have edge strips on wood and cement floors, so there was no room for "maybe the brushes pushed the strips aside" maneuvers. No, he walks right over her. Likewise, and I didn't actually see it, just the result, but I protected the descent with a boundary strip about 6 inches from it. It had to be doubly safe, because there was no way the vacuum robot would survive the fall. I know they have sensors to protect against that, but I figured between the magnetic boundary wouldn't be a problem right? Secure. However, when he got to the end of his cycle, he looked for a charging station. It rolled right over one of the protective magnetic perimeter strips and, to my horror, flew right over the cliff! So it's no longer possible. I am considering returning the device. This is still within the 30 day revain window so hopefully this won't be an issue. Maybe I should just look at the more expensive vacuum robots? If you get one of these, maybe put down the strips and then hit the button to go back to the charging station and see if I'm crazy. They seem to work most of the time, but when he wants to go home it seems like all bets are off.
