2 year old thinks it's real

My 2 year old son is obsessed with our microwave and I bought it as a distraction and so far it has worked. It looks realistic but is small enough for little ones. It makes the sounds of a real list when it's "prepared" and beeps when it's done. The door opens and closes easily, which is something I've complained about with a previous play microwave we've owned. CONS: No buttons to set the time and no digital display. Part of the fun for little ones is pushing buttons to set the time on the microwave, and it doesn't. It doesn't count down the time or anything on the digital screen. - Player? (that's what you call it) that spins the food in the microwave and EASILY comes out in 2 parts. There is a frame that sits on top of the turntable and then a plate that goes on top of where you put your food. It's easy with a little one. BUT. hard to reset! You have to line it up properly in those grooves to bring it back together and my two year old is constantly playing with it and pulling it out and then gets mad when he can't spin anything without it. ! Why didn't they just attach this spinning plate to the machine?

Pros
  • EXACTLY LIKE THE REAL THING: This toy microwave oven looks exactly like the DeLonghi 'Infito' microwave oven, down to the smallest detail!
Cons
  • Nothing here
