Sometimes it's hard to imagine how something like this could be used to mount your gear and I wasn't sure myself if my Garmin echoMap card would fit in our 1996 Sea Ray. As this is an older boat its design is more 'rounded' and as GPS and Bluetooth technologies were fairly new it was not designed with easy installation of secondary electronics in mind. Finding flat mounting surfaces without compromising the overall look was a challenge. This ram mount was the longest I could find and needed to mount a marine GPS behind a sharply angled windshield. As it turned out, the Garmin base matched the mounting hole arrangement that the Ram mount had after a few twists and turns to find it. A couple of stainless steel screws pulled the cables through and it became a very strong mount that has worked flawlessly for over a year. Due to its length it can vibrate a bit when moving through the water, so I attached a small felt pad to the mount where it could rub against the dashboard material. Very happy with it, everything assembled perfectly, no problems.
