There were many red flags in the other reviews on this product and I should have looked at them or at least read the reviews before I bought it. I had the same issue with a product that completely melted and refrozen on one side of the container. The protective seal under the lid did not adhere to the container at all. Looks like they have a problem with the induction sealer. I think the worst thing was the smell. This particular balm just smelled old and musty and actually smelled like rancid oil. I tried to decide when in doubt as it is advertised as organic and only used it once to see if it had an incredible moisturizing effect. It really wasn't any different than the previous product I used. Combine that with the fact that it just smelled awful and wasn't worth using which is why I ended up sending it back. I will definitely consider another product after this one. I also gave it two stars for value, no more, because while it's a great price per ounce, it didn't really add value to me because it was so poor.
