The device with the filter is very light, but doesn't look cheap. Once installed, you'll lose a few inches of slack, so all your tall pots and tall thermoses may not fit in your sink to refill. This really broke the deal for me. Where it screws onto my faucet, it flows, doesn't spill or splash, just flows slowly. Even these unused ports leak uncontrollably from time to time. If you can ignore leaks here and there, that shouldn't stop you from buying this filter. I already have a whole house of Pentek Big Blue pre-filters, I should just upgrade its cartridge to Charcoal + KDF and be happy. Also, this filter needs to be used with cold water, making it freezing in winter. I could just use ice water from my fridge which already has a filter built in that can't be bypassed (thanks Samsung!). So I'm going to bring back InstaPure and just use the filters mentioned above. Otherwise 51 pollution, this faucet filter removes the sound very tempting. But nowhere does it say charcoal + KDF filter or not. Or is it an ion exchanger? Everyone?
