Review on RoWood Miniature Dollhouse Furniture Accessories by Ben Cooper

Difficult but worth it

This is a review of Sam's Study. You should change the description. It's not really a dollhouse for kids to play with after it's built. This is really an exhibition. The assembly was tricky, but the instructions were in English and easy to understand. There were many photos and assembly details. When they say "do it yourself" they mean it. All the wooden parts are cut out, but you collect everything. The LED wiring for the lights was wild, I've never done that before. You assemble the chair by cutting and assembling the fabric. I had additional footage to add around the display if needed. I love the freedom to add photos or books whenever you want. I was less crowded than the examples. I didn't put all the pictures on the bookshelf either. I would suggest small clips and clips to hold things together while the glue sets. The kit for assembling the model, which included a precision knife and tweezers, came in very handy. I knew this was going to be a difficult build but I still give it 4 stars because: 1) The colors of the books and drawings were boring. They could use more color. I used leftover red chair material to cover a few books. 2) The finished floor should have been a bit bigger. Everything seems pushed into space. 3) The characters they contain can make it look more like a bookstore than a "study". I have not included these parts in my presentation. 4) Too many books have "book” in the title. 5) The color of the back panel was not opaque, so I used my own color.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
