We used to have a well system that had a pH of 5 but tasted great. I bought the Air Water Life system 4 years ago to try and get my pH up to 8+ but it hasn't gotten it past 5.5. I sent the unit back to the factory and was told that it works well with water with a pH of 6 or higher and that the machine needs a built-in mineral filter on the inlet side to raise the pH just enough to allow it the machine is running. Work. They sent me this filter and after I installed it the pH went up to 10 in cook mode and 8 in daily drink mode. After about a year in the district, we live off the installed water networks from the nationwide system. the pH of the local water was 8.2 and I no longer needed that mineral filter for the system to work, but the taste of the water didn't suit me so I installed a new mineral filter and the water tasted just as good as that again Well water that we drank before. Now I change the filter every 6 months when I change the under counter filter and the internal activated carbon filter in the Air Water Life unit. Now the daily drinking setting is 9+ and the cooking setting gives me 10.5+ ph. This filter gives the water a spring flavor that I like.
