This is a great little sensor unit. I bought a titanium step crown according to other reviews (the crown fell apart trying to drill a hole for one of the dots. I installed it on my 2001 F150 Supercrew Lariat. The metal bumper killed my battery after 2 1/2 holes killed) . Halfway through, since the drill's battery died, I decided to get an electrician. I chose to connect to the right reversing light. The power wire on the reversing sensor has 2 wires, red (hot) and black (ground).. The reversing light also has 2 wires. I had a solid black one that was for ground and one with a blue stripe that was the wire for the hot I cut the wire, stripped to reveal the copper, soldered both, tinned the power wire, all 6 ends soldered (2 from the wire and 4 from the taillight wire splice). the space I will be keeping the main unit in a lightweight case as the power cord was short and it would have been a nice dry ace to save that space. I routed the 4 sensor wires through (behind) the bumper and into the hole leading to the tail light area, plugged them in, and then, not wanting to add a wire and make/find holes, I ran the LCD/horn from the back seat and through the rear sliding window, in front of the truck bed and fed it through the holes in the truck frame until it was in the same compartment as the other cables. My window shut tight, I poured a bottle of water over the seam and it didn't leak so it was a great place for me to put mine in and as I mentioned I didn't have to add any extra wire to get this job done . I then tied all the loose wires so they don't get caught on anything when moving and keep it looking nice. FINALLY, and this is important, as I read the reviews of these various backup sensors, I noticed a lot of people (not quite this one) complaining that they kept beeping when backing up, even with nothing in the way of the sensors. I pulled out each sensor and found that each sensor has an up arrow and says "up". I turned each sensor to face up and the random beeps are gone and it works great. I recommend this and rest assured it's doable on a truck without adding any extra wiring! (if you have a rear sliding window and are willing to use it)
