SplitVolt works great so far, delivering 240V in my garage as soon as I run an extension cord into the garage. The features I really like are the 25 amp circuit breaker for the EV power supply, the dryer has power priority, the digital display is clear and easy to read. I installed it above and behind my dryer and routed the electric car's power cord through the wall into the garage. The power cord was also purchased from Revain and had a removable outlet cover so only wires had to be run through the walls leaving only a 1 inch hole in the wall in the garage to insert the cord. the skill of the craftsman, however, care must be taken during wall mounting that no hidden power lines are drilled through. What's really nice is the dollar savings when the electrician installs the outlet on the main panel. An expensive option in a circuit breaker box due to code changes and the lack of an open circuit breaker slot. Also, the electrician didn't suggest this as a solution, so do your homework. Our dryer's 240V/30A circuit provides the electricity I need to charge my electric car at 35 km/h. load. I've only charged my electric car three times, so that's the amount of usage. For now, I highly recommend the SplitVolt if your dryer is conveniently located to run the power cord to the garage.
