Review on Technica AT2005USB Handheld Dynamic Microphone by Erica Williams

I bought this microphone for my PC for voice chat and meetings. I was very hesitant to buy this mic and reviewed all possible options. The main issue with my previous mic was background noise - there was a lot of that. I used to have a Blue Snowball and most recently a Blue Yeti. Both microphones have multiple modes and seem to offer the best value for money. But both capture absolutely EVERYTHING - which is great if that's what you're looking for. But when I'm taking notes in a meeting, the clicks were weird, and in Discord, every key press was as loud as my voice. The AT2005USB is a huge improvement. With the microphone about 10 inches from my face and fairly close to my keyboard, my voice is clear and keyboard presses are still audible, but with very little background noise. My voice sounds better than the $350 AT headset - confirmed by others on Voice. If you're recording voice and you're in a quiet environment, the Blue Yeti is probably your best bet. If you have any background noise (fans, keyboard clicks, family) then get this. If you have more extreme background noise then a proper headset is the only other option but in my experience they have been very successful or not. Headset mics are nowhere near the level of standalone mics.
