I wanted to love this bed. The materials were soft and gave our hairless dog a soft spot. But within the first week it was shaking and the outer donut cracked. Problems, I could bring it back and close it again. I also told her NO. Which seemed to work for a while. Until she decided to take everything apart, including the filling. For us, this bed was clearly a failure. I guess if you have a dog, who doesn't shake this bed will do To be fair to my bo she shakes the feather pillow I have all the time and never shook I have to think choosing a little notch might not have been practical even from the Reason you would have to open them every time you wash them and I just don't think they would hold up well even if Bo didn't wash them would like.
